Police responded to a person shot at 111 S. Dicks St. early Thursday night, according to Muncie police dispatch.
Muncie Police Chief Joe Winkle said the victim is a 57-year-old male.
EMS and first responders were dispatched to the scene. Ball State University Police officers were also on scene.
As of Friday morning, the victim was still alive but in “really severe condition.”
Muncie Police Capt. Joe Todd said, “after investigation it leads us to be believe its accidental.
There was no threat to campus and police are not looking for any suspects at this time.
