The Big Band from America's Hometown Band returns to Ball State for its annual Jazz on the Terrace concert on the Ball State Quad.

The event is at 7:30 p.m. on July 20, and viewers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for "a relaxing outdoor evening."

AHB Big Band co-directors Will Frazier and Phil Cooley will be leading the event of swing music, which includes pieces like "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Night and Day."

Vocalist Myles Ogea, Ball State graduate, and trombonist Freddie Mendoza, school of music jazz professor at Ball State are the featured soloists for the free and open to the public program.

"Trombonist extraordinaire Freddie Mendoza is a much sought-after jazz performer throughout the Midwest," according to the AHB's Facebook post about the event. "Myles Ogea is back in town just for this performance, aiming to help recreate that Frank Sinatra musical aura for the audience."
