The Ball State Career Center received the Career Services Excellence Award from the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
The award was announced earlier this month at the organizations 2017 conference and expo in Las Vegas. According to its website, the NACE "connects more than 8,100 college career services professionals at nearly 2,000 colleges and universities nationwide."
Ball State's Career Center award is given "for excellence in career services best practices providing guidance, service and resources to students," according to NACE's website.
"The process of striving for national recognition empowers us to serve our students and partners better, something our team is very passionate about," director for the Career Center Jim McAtee said in a campus-wide email. "I'm so proud of the entire team in the Career Center for earning this national award!"
At the event itself, McAtee showcased information about data-informed culture, career coach Charlie Ricker discussed retention best practices and success stories for KEY Careers, career coach Renee Haack gave multiple presentations covering the partnership with the Career Center and Disability Services and director of Digital Corps, Brandon Smith, was a finalist for a Technology Excellence Award.
In the email, the Career Center said the award "is just as much about the entire Ball State campus community as it is the Career Center."
