A Ball State student is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed his stepfather in the chest and arm.

Storm Rollins, 19, has been preliminarily charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery, according to court documents.

Yorktown Police responded to the 1600 block of S. Kingston Avenue on reports of the stabbing. When police arrived on the scene, they found Rollins' stepfather sitting on the porch with "multiple" stab wounds.

An eyewitness told police that Rollins went into the kitchen to retrieve "a sharp object." The witness also told police they heard Rollins say, "I'm gonna kill him."

Rollins was also seen beating his stepfather in the face with a baseball bat "several times," according to the affidavit. The stepfather was transferred to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and is being treated for "serious injuries." Rollins also told police his stepfather "battered" him.

Rollins is currently being held in the Delaware County Jail without bond. A university spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that Rollins is a registered student.
