Field hockey snaps losing streak, beats Michigan State 3-2

Behind three goals on three first-half shots, Ball State field hockey snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Michigan State Oct. 2.

Darbi Gullett opened up scoring in the 14th minute with her third goal of the year, quickly followed by Hannah Bohn’s first goal of the season at 16 minutes. After the Spartans got one back, Abbey Main knocked in her first of the year, which would become the deciding goal.

Michigan State outshot the Cardinals 11-4 and had 12 corners compared to the Cardinals’ one.

The Cardinals will play their last non-conference game Oct. 3 against Ohio State at 3:00 p.m. at the Briner Sports Complex in Muncie.
