Smith appeared in all 35 games in the 2015-16 season that saw Ball State both win 20 games and reach a postseason tournament for the first time since 2002.

The 6-foot-4 point guard started 18 games for the Cardinals and averaged 19 minutes per game. He also led Ball State with 95 assists and 38 steals.

Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Smith transferred to Ball State from San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas.

Smith is the second Cardinal to transfer from the program this offseason after senior Jeremiah Davis announced he would use his sixth year of eligibility elsewhere.
