Ball State women's basketball senior guard Nathalie Fontaine was awarded the Mid-American Conference player of the week for the sixth time this year. This marks the 12th time Fontaine has won the award in her career.

Fontaine scored 57 points and hauled in 24 rebounds last week, highlighted by a 29-point, 14-rebound performance in the Cardinals' 74-65 loss to Central Michigan.

She also recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 28 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's loss to Kent State. It was also the 30th double-double of her career.

With this week's performance, Fontaine is now the second player in Ball State women's history with 2,000 career points.

She is 91 points shy of Tamara Bowie's record 2,091 career points, with six regular-season games remaining.
