Ball State falls at Buffalo, 76-64

The Cardinals had troubles defending the paint, as they surrendered 40 points to the Bulls on the night.

Along with the defensive struggles, Ball State could not find a rhythm on the offensive end. Buffalo scored 24 points off 19 Ball State turnovers. Senior guard Jeremiah Davis was the leading scorer for Ball State with 13 points. While senior forward Bo Calhoun grabbed a double double with 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Going into halftime Ball State trailed by only 2 points, but Buffalo went on an 8-4 run to stretch the lead to 33-39, the Cardinals would give up 45 second half points.

Ball State was able to bring the game within three [61-58] after Jeremiah Davis hit a 3-pointer with 5:49 left in the game. Buffalo proceeded to go on a 10-1 run and the Cardinals ran out of time, bringing the teams MAC record to 4-3 on the season.

Ball State (13-7) will tipoff against Akron (16-4) at 1 p.m. on Jan. 30 at Worthen Arena.

Akron's 16-4 record is tied for the best overall in the conference, and Ball State has not seen a victory against the Zips since the 2003-04 season.
