New Corner Brewery moving to a new corner

Since opening nearly 18 months ago, New Corner Brewing Company has seen growth and success. Sean Brady, owner and operator, is now hoping to take that success to a new location.

According to Brady, the old freight train depot will serve as the new location for the brewery that is projected to be operational by the end of the year. He said he hopes the location of the remodeled facility in the Old West End neighborhood will help bring economic growth to the area.

"It attracts people from out of town to come into town. And I think if I can pull them into the downtown area, I think that’s just gonna be better for all the business down there,” Brady said.

But that’s not the only kind of growth that Brady said he hopes to be a part of. He said he loves being a part of the community and developing relationships with his customers.

“You can talk to people about beer. When they come in and taste, you get to explain to them what they’re tasting and what you did to the beer to make different flavors happen and why they’re tasting that.” Brady explained.

Another way Brady hopes to connect with the community is through the significance of the old freight train depot. He said once the new location opens, he plans on opening the loading dock for the public to come and enjoy watching the trains and having a drink.

“There are lots of people in the community that love to sit and watch trains, and take pictures of trains, and enjoy trains. This is the hottest spot in Delaware county to do that,” said Brady.

Brady is not the only one excited about future possibilities at the new location. Steven Hurst, a friend of Brady’s and a fellow brewer says he hopes the business continues to grow in the coming years.

“I’m hoping one of these days we get to the point where there’s food trucks pulling up and we’ll have bands and the whole deal, so we’ll see,” Hurst said enthusiastically.

Brady said he can’t wait to get back into the neighborhood that he grew up in. Until then, the current location can be found on the south side of Muncie on Mount Pleasant Boulevard.
