In order to collect items for soldiers overseas, Alpha Omicron Pi has organized a movie night in the Quad for Oct. 8.
"The Sandlot" will start at 8 p.m. and anyone is welcome to come.
"We have a couple different [philanthropies], but this is one we like to spend time on," said Katie Huston, Internal Philanthropic Chair for Alpha Omega Pi. "We collect the items, and our headquarters sponsors Sisters for Soldiers, so we send all the items over there and they package it up and send it over to the troops."
They're looking for items like books, magazines, t-shirts, non-perishable food, board games or really anything a soldier would enjoy getting in a care package. Donations are encouraged, but not required.
"It'll be a good time [to] just be able to hang out and have a good, fun night," Huston said.
