Business owners speak on changes in the Village

New businesses opening in the Village over the past year have transformed the area south of Ball State's campus. The Village Promenade and Brothers Bar & Grill have especially garnered traffic and new business.

Co-owners of The Cup, Mark Raines and Brandon Shaver, explain what it has been like to watch this transition.

"When we first opened there was really nothing across the street," Raines said. "We didn't really know a world when there was anything over there before."

The newest addition to the Village is ScreenBroidery, a shirt store. Caffeinery and Hot Box Pizza will soon follow.

"It seems like the village can either be the hot spot or the place where there's nothing really going on," Shaver said.
