Zavier Turner to transfer from Ball State men's basketball

Year - Sophomore

Hometown - Indianapolis, Ind. 

High School - Pike

Turner played two seasons for the Cardinals. He was the 2013-14 recipient of the Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year award.

"I just felt like this was the best decision for me," Turner said in a statement. "I talked about it with my parents, and they are supporting me. I enjoyed my two years here, but felt like this was the right thing."

He averaged 8.7 points and 3.3 assists per game this season after averaging 12.1 points and 3.7 assists per contest in his freshman year.

"We want to thank [Turner] for his two years at Ball State," head coach James Whitford said in a statement. "We wish him the very best going forward."
