Four Cardinals to try out for U.S. National Team

Tryouts are for spots on:

U.S. Women's National Team

U.S. Collegiate National Team

U.S. Women's Junior National Team (for those born in 1996 or 1997)

Three Ball State volleyball players and one incoming freshman will participate in the U.S. Women's National Team tryouts in Colorado Springs, Colo. this weekend.

The Cardinals will be represented by senior Jenna Spadafora, redshirt senior Kelly Hopkins and redshirt sophomore Sabrina Mangapora. Incoming freshman Brooklyn Goodsel will also attend the tryout.

“We are extremely pleased and proud to have three current Ball State women’s volleyball players and a future Ball State player participating in the USA National Team tryout in Colorado Springs,” head coach Steve Shondell said in a statement. “The experience gained competing against the finest players in the country during this prestigious tryout can only benefit the future of Ball State volleyball."

A total of 232 student-athletes will take part in the tryout from Feb. 20-22 at the Olympic Training Center.
