Ball State improves to 5-1 with win over Sacred Heart

The Ball State men's volleyball team got back to winning after a dominant 3-0 victory on the road against Sacred Heart Jan. 24.

The Cardinals started off slow in the first set, winning 25-22. The team recorded 9 kills with a .114 attack percentage in set one.

Ball State finished the match with wins of 25-18 and 25-11 in sets two and three.

Junior outside attacker Marcin Niemczewski led the team in kills with 10 on the night and tied for the most digs with six.

Junior setter, Hiago Garchet paced the offense with 25 assists and a kill. He also recorded two digs in the match.

Statistically, the Cardinals outmatched Sacred Heart in all three sets with kills (32-27), attack perentage (.303- -.071) and assists (28-24). The only category Sacred Heart came out on top of was digs (27-31).

The Cardinals have a week off before they play Quincy and Lindenwood at home next weekend.
