The Ball State women's basketball team appeared to be in midseason form Tuesday night, dominating Oakland City 116-29 in its exhibition game.

Four Cardinals registered double-doubles, with starting center Renee Bennett leading the team in points with 23, and rebounds with 13.

Head coach Brady Sallee said his team played well from top to bottom, but that he is looking forward to the regular season.

“I’m a pretty happy coach right now," Sallee said. "We get a couple days off here, and I’m looking forward to going into the film room and preparing for Purdue.”

After falling in the championship game of the Mid-American Conference tournament last season, Ball State enters 2014 ranked second in the MAC's preseason rankings, behind Central Michigan.

Though there is pressure to measure up to last season's performance, Sallee said this year's roster is different and has to distance themselves from the comparison.

Ball State opens the regular season on Nov. 14, hosting Purdue at Worthen Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
