For the second time this season, Ball State women's volleyball middle hitter Hayley Benson has been named the Mid-American Conference West Offensive Player of the Week. Benson helped guide the Cardinals to a 1-1 record to begin conference play.

Through Ball State's first two conference games, Benson led the Cardinals with 26 kills on a .474 attack percentage, including a 16-kill performance against Western Michigan. She also tallied seven total blocks and four service aces.

The redshirt junior is now a four-time MAC player of the week award winner, including three offensive awards. Benson and teammate Alex Fuelling are the only two Cardinals to receive the award this season.

The Cardinals continue conference play on Oct. 3 at home against Eastern Michigan, and then on Oct. 4 as they host Central Michigan with both matches beginning at 7 p.m.
