A two car collision left one car leaning against a tree resting on its roof.

Around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Beechwood and Reserve streets, a Ford Escape, driven by an unidentified female driver, crashed into the front bumper of a Ball State student's beige sedan.

The resulting impact spun the Escape out of control, flipping the car, according to several witnesses at the scene.

The student declined to comment on the crash.

Ashleigh South, a junior biology cellular molecular biology major, and Taylor Sheipline, 21, turned onto Reserve Street in time to see the car in the air.

"[Sheipline] just slammed on the brakes and told me to call 911," South said.

South said a man riding a bicycle was crossing the intersection as well and had to jump off his bike and out of the way to avoid being hit by the Ford.

South and Sheipline rushed to the car to find the driver apparently uninjured, hanging upside down in the seat.

"She just kept saying 'Get me out of here,'" Sheipline said.

South said the woman remained in the vehicle until emergency vehicles arrived on the scene.

The woman was taken to Ball Memorial to check for possible injury.
