Hayley Benson of the Ball State women’s volleyball team has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week. This is her third time winning a MAC weekly award.

Benson received the honor based on the vote by the league’s 12 head coaches.

The redshirt junior hit .492 at the UniWyo Cowgirl Classic and led the Cardinals with 39 kills on her way to earning All-Tournament honors. She also tied for the team lead with nine total blocks.

She posted a career-high 17 kills against South Alabama in the last match of the tournament.

Benson received the offensive award once last season, while also receiving a weekly award for defense.

Benson and the Cardinals will look to improve on their 3-3 record this weekend as they travel to Wisconsin for the HotelRED Invitational.
