The Ball State cross country team opened its 2014 season by placing third at the Butler Opener.
The Cardinals had four top 15 finishes, with senior Courtney Edon leading the way with a fourth place finish in the 5k race with a final time of 19:19.0.
Sophomore Jordan Timmons placed ninth with a final of 19:36.4, while redshirt junior Madelyn Webster finished 14th at 19:51.8 and freshman Jessica Bryzek placed 15th in her first collegiate meet.
On Friday, the team will travel to Athens, Ohio, to compete in the Ohio Invitational.
