Ball State football’s Jacob Richard has been named to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List for the 2014 season.
The Lombardi Award is given annually to a Division I college football player. It is limited to down lineman, end-to-end on offense or defense and linebackers who set up no farther than five yards from the line of scrimmage.
Richard, a junior center, was named to the 2013 All-Mid American Conference Third Team.
He has started 16 games through his first two seasons and was part of a record-breaking offense in 2013.
The watch list is a reference tool for the selection committee that will give the award at the end of the season.
