'How I Met Your Mother' shocker

The "How I Met Your Mother" finale wound is still fresh after the shocking reveal of a death, a divorce and a rekindled romance. Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, the creators of the majorly successful CBS sitcom, say they knew how they wanted it to end the entire time. Parts of the finale even were shot in 2006 “for fear that the teenaged actors who played Ted’s children would become unrecognizable.” But how did the finale set with their devoted fans? Not so well according to Twitter. Most were non-too pleased with the “fake-out” series, earning it the third worst TV finale of all time. According eonline.com, 63.13 percent of people say they “loathed it.” The show follows the likes of Big Love and Dexter as the top two hated finales ever.

David Letterman retiring

They’re calling it the “end of an era.” The CBS Late Show host will say goodnight for the last time in 2015 after 21 years on air. Letterman threw the audience for a loop when he announced his exit to late night TV during his Thursday taping. Musical guest, R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills spilled the beans tweeting “Dave just announced his retirement #muchlovedave.” So how did the longest-running host break the news to CEO and president of CBS, Les Moonves? “I phoned him just before the program,” said Letterman. “And I said ‘Leslie, it's been great, you've been great, and the network has been great, but I'm retiring.” Soon after he made the official announcement, Moonves released a statement, saying, “There is only one David Letterman.” We’re all going to miss those hilarious Top Ten’s but don’t worry just yet because the Ball State alumni also said that they “don’t have the timing precisely down” and it will be at least a year before his retirement. We can only imagine what his final “Top Ten” will be about, but hey, maybe he’ll have more time to come visit his alma mater.
