WOMEN'S GOLF: Hague named MAC Player of the Week

Jenna Hague has traditionally placed well at the Redbird Invitational.

The junior's third time competing at Redbird resulted in a first-place finish, and Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week honors.

Hague placed fifth individually at the event last year, and third as a freshman. She opened the 2013 season last weekend with a career day at the familiar course.

She matched the Ball State 54-hole scoring record en route to a fifth career first-place finish. Her score of 215, 1-under par (72-70-73) score edged out Lily Bartell of Bowling Green State by one stroke.

After bogeying on her 15th hole of the final round, Hague recovered with birdies on 16 and 18 to close the tournament. Those shots moved her into first place, and sealed Ball State's second-place finish as a team.

With the win, Hague extends her own school record for individual victories.

Ball State returns to action Monday at Louisville's Cardinal Cup.
