MEN'S BASKETBALL:Ball State signs late recruit

Ball State officially announced the late signing of a 6-foot point guard recruit, according to a Ball State press release.

Chase Brogna graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas, and will join the Ball State men's basketball team in the fall.

The signing began after Brogna was denied admission to Rice because of academic qualifications, Brogna told The Star Press.

Brogna scored 17.6 points per game as a senior and led St. Thomas to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 5A State Championship as a junior.

He will be one of three incoming freshman guards for Ball State, who are looking for a replacement for graduated point guard Randy Davis.
