MEN'S BASKETBALL: Ball State earns preseason honors

Davis and Jones named to First Team All-MAC

In one of its most hyped seasons in recent memory, Ball State has been picked to finish second in the Mid-American Conference West Division preseason poll, the league announced Wednesday morning.

Last season the Cardinals posted an impressive 19-13 overall record last season, while going 10-6 in the conference and finishing second in the West Division.

Western Michigan is the preseason favorite to win the West, while Kent State, last year's MAC regular season champion, is picked to win the East.

In addition to the preseason polls, Ball State seniors Jarrod Jones and Randy Davis have been selected to the West Division Preseason All-MAC Team.

This is Jones' third straight year with preseason honors. For Davis, this is his first ever preseason All-MAC selection.

The Cardinals return nine letterwinners, including their top five scorers from last season.

Ball State will host Taylor in an exhibition game on Monday, November 7.
