WOMEN'S GOLF: Ball State ties for fourth

Hague leads Cardinals with fifth place finish

Ball State's women's golf team managed to tie for fourth at the Mid-American Conference Preview Tournament.

The 14-team tournament was played at the Hawthorns Golf Club in Fishers, Ind.

The Cardinals were tied for seventh after the first 18 holes on Monday with an overall team score of 317. They posted a 306 in the final round on Tuesday making the overall team score 623.

Ball State tied with Western Michigan.

Freshman Jenna Hague led the Cardinals for the fourth consecutive tournament. She tied for fifth with a 151. The MAC Preview improves her average score to 75.67 per round, and it completes her second straight top-10 finish and third this fall.

Junior Autumn Duke tied for 14th after posting 155. Sophomore Meghan Perry finished with 158 and tied for 25th, while senior Katie Windlan tied for 27th carding 159. Junior Chantelle Hefer rounded out the lineup for the Cardinals in a tie for 41st with 162.

Freshman Jamie Caylor tied for 27th posting 159, and sophomore Sarah Westaway finished with 164 to tie for 49th. Caylor and Westaway competed as individuals for Ball State.

Joining the Cardinals at the event were Akron, Bowling Green, Butler, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Indiana State, IUPUI, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Southern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Toledo won the event with an overall score of 621 after a playoff with Akron.
