BASEBALL: Butler game canceled

Mid-week game washed away by rain

Tuesday afternoon's game versus Butler of the Horizon League has been postponed due to rain.

A makeup date has not been announced.

Despite the postponement, Ball State (10-23) is scheduled to host Northwestern Ohio (15-24) of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference this afternoon at Ball Diamond.

Freshman left-hander Nestor Bautista will get the start versus the Racers. Bautista is (0-4), with a 9.14 ERA on the season.

The rookie has started three mid-week non-conference games for the Cardinals. He was handed losses against Indiana State on April 6 and Indiana on March 23.

In his last outing against the Purdue Boilermakers, Bautista earned a no-decision after yielding four runs on seven hits in four innings.

It has yet to be determined who will start for the Racers.
