Cardinals commit 22 turnovers in loss to Bulls

Ball State women's basketball season ended after a 82-73 loss to Buffalo in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Saturday night.

The No. 11 seed Cardinals went back and forth with the Bulls in the first half of the game, trailing 38-31 at halftime.

In the second half, Ball State was able to bring the game with in a single point late in the half.

Senior guard Ty'Ronda Benning led the Cardinals with 20 points and five rebounds. Fellow senior guard Ebony Jackson scored 14 points and made four 3-pointers on the night.

Senior forward Emily Maggert was held to five points.

Ball State shot 52 percent from the field for the game compared to Buffalo's 46 percent from the field, but the Cardinals were doomed by 22 turnovers on the night.

Ball State's season ends with a 9-21 record.
