Team returns home for second matchup against Eastern Michigan
A two-week road trip that resulted with two losses is over and a new game with a familiar opponent awaits.
Ball State will host its Mid-American Conference West Division opponent Eastern Michigan for the second time this season at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena.
In the first game between the two teams earlier this season, Eastern Michigan outlasted Ball State 70-62 at the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Ball State (9-15, 4-7) enters tonight's game after losing four consecutive games.
The team has not scored 70 or more points in a game since they scored 86 in the win against Central Michigan on Jan. 15.
Playing at home kept them alive this season and the Cardinals look to strengthen their (4-1) home mark with a win.
Senior forward Emily Maggert leads Ball State in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per game, and total rebounds with 209.
Fellow senior captain Ty'Ronda Benning leads Ball Sate with 81 assists and will need to spread the ball around the court in order to win.
Despite having lost two games in a row, Eastern Michigan (16-9, 7-4) has won all five of its road contests during conference play this season and looks to remain undefeated.
Eastern Michigan has three players on its roster that are averaging double figures in scoring per game, including MAC Player of the Week senior Cassie Schrock.
Rebounding will be essential for Ball State as Eastern Michigan leads the MAC in offensive rebounds with an average of 17.73 per game.
Ball State looks to avenge their loss earlier in the season and get back in the thick of things in the MAC.
