WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals on road against Broncos

Team looking for first road win in MAC

If Ball State wants any chance at hosting a first round game of the Mid-American Conference Tournament, it will have to win the final two games of the regular season.

The Cardinals first game is today, as Ball State faces Western Michigan.

The Broncos currently sit at 4-10 in the MAC, tied with the Cardinals for fifth in the MAC West Division.

Ball State and Western Michigan are tied for the No. 9 seed in the tournament, in front of Ohio and Miami University.

In their matchup earlier this season, Ball State came away with a 67-60 victory at Worthen Arena.

Senior guard Ty'ronda Benning scored a career-high 33 points on 6-of-10 shooting from 3-point range in the victory Jan. 11.

Taylor Manley scored 19 points against Ball State to lead Western Michigan.

The Broncos are led by Ebony Cleary and Manley, averaging 12.9 and 12.8 points, respectively.

Ball State is on a seven-game losing streak and is looking for its first road win in the MAC this season. A win for the Cardinals would put them at 5-10 in the MAC and sole possession of the No. 9 seed.
