MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals heading on the road for Bracketbusters

Ball State travels to play Wofford tonight

Before finishing its final four Mid-American Conference games, Ball State will jump out of conference one last time play to face Wofford in the 2011 Bracketbuster games.

The Cardinals will head down to Spartanburg, S.C. for a 7 p.m. tip off today against the 15-12 Terriers.

Despite its overall record, Wofford has an impressive 12-4 against Southern Conference opponents. The 12-4 record has Wofford in second place in the SoCon South Division.

"Wofford is a good team that was in the NCAA tournament last year," coach Billy Taylor said. "It will be a good challenge for us."

The Terriers are the defending SoCon Champions from last season.

They have three players averaging double figures. The leading scorer for the Terriers is Noah Dahlman, a 6-foot-6, 228 pound forward who averages 20.3 points per contest.

"You just want to play good teams, you play good teams this time of year it's going to get you ready ultimately for the MAC tournament," Taylor said. "This is another good ball club, they don't know us, (and) we don't know them as well yet (either). So it gives us a chance to see someone a little different."

The last time Ball State went on the road for a Bracketbusters game was against Eastern Kentucky in 2007-08.
